Veteran hotelier Priyal Perera was re-elected President of Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association (CHSGA) at their 49th AGM held recently at the Taj Samudra Hotel.
Having graduated from the Ceylon Hotel School in 1991, Priyal has diverse experience in the hotel industry spanning from food and beverage management and operations to hotel management and operations. With over 30 years of experience in the hotel industry, Priyal Perera currently offers his expertise in senior management capacity at Serendib Leisure Management Ltd.
Starting his career back in 1986 as a trainee, Priyal worked his way up in the industry and joined the Serendib Leisure hotel chain in 2004. He managed projects, procurement, and operations during a crucial time following the tsunami, facilitating a complete restoration, and reopening of the then Hotel Serendib, Bentota within a span of six months. Resigning from his role in 2006, Priyal pursued his own business for 14 years before rejoining Serendib Leisure in 2018.
