Bukit Lawang is a tiny trekking town in the north of Sumatra. Most people just breeze through, using it as a hub for the nights before and after the irjungle trek. As a result, there are fewer tourists who stay in the area, and so the locals tend to be much more receptive and curious. The town itself is lovely but it wasthe people that made the place wonderful.
